A century-old grocery store operating since the 1930s in Ankara is kept alive by Fikret Tohumcu, who took it over from his father. The grocery store carries traces of the past with its stone and adobe walls, wooden ceiling, and old scales. Tohumcu, who has been running this business for about 40 years, offers vegetables and dairy products brought from surrounding neighborhoods to customers. Emphasizing the importance of maintaining the traditional shopping culture, Tohumcu stated that he tries to keep the shop inherited from his father alive. The grocery store stands out as an important cultural value, attracting not only shoppers but also visitors to the area.
