According to the latest assessments by the General Directorate of Meteorology, significant weather changes will occur across Turkey. The entire country is expected to be mostly cloudy, with precipitation affecting the Aegean, Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, Black Sea, Eastern Anatolia (except Van and Iğdır), Southeastern Anatolia, and the surroundings of Balıkesir, Yalova, Bursa, Bilecik, and Sakarya. The precipitation will generally be in the form of rain and showers, while mixed rain and snow and snow are expected in the inner parts of the Western and Eastern Black Sea and the highlands of Eastern Anatolia. Local heavy rainfall is especially expected in the Eastern Mediterranean, Eastern Black Sea, northern Eastern Anatolia, and the areas around Kayseri, Sivas, Malatya, Muş, and Bingöl.
Winds are forecast to blow strongly (40-60 km/h) from northern directions in Marmara, Inner Aegean, Western Black Sea, and the northwest of Central Anatolia, and from southern directions in the eastern and inner parts of the Mediterranean and the south and east of Central Anatolia. While a storm warning has been issued for Istanbul, there is avalanche danger in the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea and the steep areas with high snow cover in Eastern Anatolia.
It was stated that air temperatures will noticeably decrease by 3 to 7 degrees in the northern and inner regions, while no significant change is expected in other areas. Additionally, due to cooling in the northern and inner regions, there is a light, moderate, and locally strong risk of agricultural frost in the southeast of Marmara, Inner Aegean, northern Central Anatolia, and the inner parts of the Western Black Sea. This risk is expected to continue until Saturday. Meteorology has warned farmers and citizens to be careful and take precautions regarding this matter.
