A major transport project that will strengthen railway connections is being implemented in Blagoveshchensk, the capital of the Amur region. A modern bus station with a capacity of 400 passengers will be built right next to the city's railway station. According to the Amur Region government, more than 600 million rubles will be invested in this project.
Governor Vasily Orlov congratulated the investor and emphasized their support for the project. Orlov said, 'We are planning several projects in the railway station area. This is the face of the city and it must look the part.'
The governor announced that simultaneously with the bus station construction, the street and road network will be comprehensively renovated, the station square will be landscaped, and a new monument will be erected. An overpass is also planned to be built nearby. Orlov instructed the city administration and the Ministry of Transport to take into account the transport plan and pedestrian accessibility when developing all these projects.
Fyodor Sidorov, General Director of the investor company Prisk Solovyevski, shared the technical details of the bus station. According to Sidorov, the facility will have 10 departure and 4 arrival platforms. In addition to a waiting hall with a capacity of 400 passengers, the surrounding area will include a parking lot, electric vehicle charging stations, and a bus technical inspection area. The building will also feature a hotel section and rest areas.
Thanks to its location near the railway station, the bus station will function as a transport hub. Government officials stated that this hub is particularly important for transit and international routes.
The project has been included in the Amur Region's list of priority investment projects and will be supported at all stages from planning to commissioning. The land will be leased to the investor on favorable terms. The bus station is targeted for completion by 2029.
