Wildfires affected more than 530,000 hectares in Europe
More than 530,000 hectares were lost to wildfires in various parts of Europe this year, while total damage and economic losses are estimated at between €15.6 billion and €19.1 billion. Extreme heat and drought could keep the wildfire risk high until autumn.
