Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced that the United States had proposed trilateral talks to bring Ukraine and Russia together in a technical format in the United Arab Emirates.
Zelensky said they were waiting for the United States to propose a date for the meeting. He added that the United States had designated the United Arab Emirates as the venue.
Plan for consultations with Europe and Moscow
Zelensky said that, following his meeting with Trump in New York, the Ukrainian and US delegations had agreed to hold consultations with the European Union and Moscow. He added that the process would be reassessed after those contacts.
Zelensky said Ukraine would discuss the details with the European side, while the United States would establish contact with Russia. He added that the parties planned to return to the talks in 10 days to assess the situation and share their conclusions.
Threat of hybrid attacks against Europe
Zelensky said that the threat of Russian hybrid attacks against European countries had also been discussed during his meeting with CIA Director John Ratcliffe.
Zelensky said Ukraine, the United States and their European partners shared the same understanding in their assessments of the current situation. He added that the intelligence services of some countries would take steps in the near future against Russia’s hybrid actions.
