Authorities in the South Korean port city of Busan removed a shark from a city canal on their third attempt after it had spent about a month there.
Yonhap reported that the shark, named Bukangyi, was first spotted in the canal on September 18. By Sunday, more than 1.6 million people had come to see it.

Municipal workers and the coast guard guided the shark toward Marina Bridge using a net attached to a pontoon. It was later spotted in waters outside the canal near one of the piers.
Authorities made a third attempt after two unsuccessful efforts, fearing the shark could die as water temperatures continued to fall. The waters near the pier are not yet considered open sea, and specialists hope the shark will eventually move farther away.
