Speaking at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, Iranian diplomat Nasser Asedi said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should speak in a courtroom, not from the UN podium.
Asedi criticized the decision to give Netanyahu the floor at the General Assembly. Saying that the United Nations was established to preserve peace and establish justice, Asedi said the organization was not a platform for war criminals to speak.
The Iranian diplomat also said that the International Criminal Court had issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu, adding that Netanyahu’s place was in a courtroom, not at the United Nations podium.

Several international delegations left the chamber while Netanyahu was speaking at the General Assembly. The delegations protested the continuation of attacks in Gaza despite the ceasefire, the seizure of land in the occupied West Bank, and attacks on Syria and Lebanon.
Netanyahu also faced protests from crowds gathered outside the United Nations building.
