The iconic voice of British pop rock music, Bonnie Tyler, has died at the age of 75 in the hospital in Portugal where she was receiving treatment. The artist's family and team announced that Tyler unexpectedly passed away due to the illness for which she was being treated.
In a written statement from the family, they said, "It is with great sadness that we announce Bonnie's unexpected passing in Portugal due to the illness she was being treated for."
She had fallen into a coma after surgery in May
Bonnie Tyler's health problems began in May. Her family announced that the artist underwent emergency intestinal surgery and subsequently fell into a coma. As a result, Tyler's planned summer tour was postponed.
At that time, the family stated that her condition was serious but stable, and that doctors were optimistic about a full recovery. They called on the media to stop speculating.
In mid-June, her manager announced that Tyler had come out of the coma but that her health was still very poor and she remained in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Portugal. The family confirmed that the artist was no longer in a coma and expressed gratitude for the messages of support from around the world.
