Application preparation

• 1. Check your requirements and the five-year calculationAssess the date of your ВНЖ decision and any special circumstances exempting you from the five-year requirement.
• 2. Prepare your language and history documentsPrepare your Russian-language and history-and-law documents; see R4.3 for the required documents.
• 3. Obtain the Turkish criminal-record certificateObtain a document issued no more than 3 months before the application; the Embassy in Moscow may send it by mail.

• 4. Have the documents apostilled and translatedHave documents from Turkey apostilled and prepare their notarized Russian translations.

• 5. Complete the application form in two copiesComplete the form in Russian; sign every page and leave no corrections, abbreviations, or stains.
• 6. Make an appointment and apply in personApply to the Ministry of Internal Affairs migration office at your place of residence or temporary registration; you can also make an appointment through Gosuslugi.
• 7. Wait for the decisionTrack the decision process from the date the Ministry of Internal Affairs accepts the application for review.
• 8. Take your citizenship oathOn the notified date, read the oath in Russian before the Russian State Flag and sign the form.
• 9. Obtain your passport and register for military serviceAfter the oath, obtain your Russian passport and register for military service; your ВНЖ becomes invalid.
